Main Preaching Service (February 23, 2020)
Pastor Jun continued his preaching beyond the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:14-24) and examined the The Role of Prayer in our Spirit-Filled Warfare. This should lead us to ask ourselves the question: Are we making prayer one of the top priorities of our lives as Christian soldiers?
Prayer is a top priority in our spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:18
Kinds of prayer needed in our spiritual warfare:
1. Reverential Prayer is a prayer that refers to general requests made to God. (Greek: Proseuche) “Prayer” v.18a
2. Specific Prayer is a prayer that refers to specific requests made to God concerning a specific need. (Greek: Deesis) “Supplication” v.18b
3. Spirit-led Prayer means all prayers must be made under the control and guidance of the Holy Spirit. “in the Spirit” v.18c
4. Vigilant Prayer means all prayers must be made with alertness and watchfulness. “watching thereunto” v. 18d
5. Persevering Prayer means that all prayers must be made with all persistence. “with all perseverance” v. 18e
6. Mutual Prayer means all prayers must be made for all believers. “for all the saints” v. 18f
How is your prayer life? Are your prayers still show your devotion and awe of the King?
